Online activities for Tuesday, May 12
See our Online School Agenda to see what we worked on today. You and your students can easily get to the agenda from go.mrhowd.com/online.
Reading: Students read two short stories and practiced finding the problem and solution. Check the Online School Agenda for details.
Writing: We finished reading the book, Love that Dog. Today was also a revising day for poems.
A collection of poems will be due Friday, May 15. Check the Online School Agenda for directions and links. Students should have four to five poems written by now, and their final collection should have a minimum of 5-7 poems.
We also continued to plan our last writing project of the year, called Find It, Decide It. Students have been looking for partners and starting to think of possible topics.
Math: We started a topic on adding and subtracting fractions. We have three topics remaining, and about four weeks left. That leaves us with about a week for each topic. We are planning to finish this topic by May 19. Students will need to work at a focused pace, completing several skills a day, to finish. Check the Online School Agenda for directions and links.
Science: None today.
Social Studies: Students read about reasons why immigrants from many different countries moved to Michigan. Check the Online School Agenda for directions and links.
