Class activities for Wednesday, January 21
Spelling: Today was a preview of upcoming spelling words.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students received their new Literature Circles books and we started to plan how many pages each student will read daily.
Writing: We started working on our next writing project, a literary essay (here’s a sample). Students will select a picture book and write an essay about the theme or big idea of the book.
A literary essay will be due Friday, February 6.
Math: Students completed a STAR Math test today. Here are some division skills we’ve been working on lately:
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: Students completed an experiment to test human variation to touch sensitivity. Homework is to finish analysis questions 1-6 on p. 31.
Social Studies: Students completed a district social studies test today.
