Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles.

Writing: We looked at some common types of endings in Choose Your Own Adventure stories. We noticed that some endings are good and solve the problem of the plot. Some are bad endings that usually result in death of the main character. Some are neutral, not solving the problem, but not dying. Students should have these different kinds of endings in their stories as well, including at least one good ending, at least one bad ending, and at least two neutral endings.

Our next project is a Choose Your Own Adventure fiction gamebook, due Friday, February 11. Students will publish their adventure as a website at sites.mrhowd.com. Students should be prewriting or drafting at this time.
