Class activities for Friday, April 24
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.
Reading: Students completed an informational reading test today.
Writing: Students continued to work on their digital presentation using MrHowd.com Docs (docs.mrhowd.com).
Visit our research website and see what students are working on. This digital presentation is due Wednesday, April 29 and will be presented Friday, May 1.
Math: Students were introduced to powers and exponents, and we practiced with powers of 10. Homework is to finish Journal pp. 138-139 started in class. Students also completed a multiplication MiniQuiz.
Science: In health today, we talked about fire and burn safety, including ways to avoid common burns. We also talked about what to do in the event of a fire and students made Fire Emergency Escape plans. Homework is to finish the fire escape plan and show it to a parent.
Social Studies: We wrote notes in our minibooks about the fur trade and settlement in Michigan, and started to learn about the problems caused when the British and French wanted the same fur trading territory in Michigan.
