Class activities for Monday, October 12
Spelling: We practiced spelling words by chunking them into syllables.
Cursive: Cursive worksheet pp. 38-40 are available and due on Friday.
Reading: Students continued to work on their Literature Circles projects today to tell the class about their book. The projects will be presented at the end of this week.
Writing: Students started working on revising conferences today.
The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, will be due Friday, October 16. Students should be revising by now.
Math: We started reviewing place value today. Homework is to finish Journal pp. 31-33. The class was quite inefficient with their math time today, resulting increased homework.
Science: We reviewed our last experiment about states of matter and discussed solids, liquids and gases.
Social Studies: The class finished working on their Underground Railroad test from last week.

- Tentative plans are being made for our Halloween party, which will be a Hawaiian Beach Bash! It looks like our party will be Friday, October 30 from 9:30 am until around noon. We will need some help coordinating food and donations. Would anyone like to help coordinate that? Just contact me and I can give you further information.
