Writing: None today due to the Reading MEAP test.
The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, will be due Friday, October 16. Students should be revising or editing by now.
Math: We continued to review place value today. Students used calculators to change the value of various digits (e.g., start with 490, change the hundreds place to an 8 by adding. If the student adds 400 to 490, the result will be 890, and the hundreds place will have an 8.) Students also played a game to review reading large numbers and comparing numbers using place value. Homework is to finish Math Boxes 2.4, if not done in class.
Science: Students were give some oobleck to observe. Students noticed that this mixture sometimes acts like a liquid and sometimes like a solid. Try making some at home!
Social Studies: None today due to art.
