Class activities for Friday, May 7
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles.
Writing: We learned that poets arrange their words on a page to make use of whitespace. Poets don’t always write to the edge of the page, but choose exactly which words should go on a line. Some lines are so important, that they stand by themselves so the reader can think about them.
A collection of poems is due into portfolios on Friday, May 21.
Math: None today due to STAR Friday.
Science: We reviewed plant and animal needs. We also started thinking about what food is, and what is food for a plant. Homework is to finish the Is it food for a plants? page.
Social Studies: None on Fridays.
