Class activities for Friday, May 21
Spelling: We learned that some English words (vocal, vocabulary, advocate, provoke, revoke) are made from Latin base words (vocare meaning “to call”). Knowing the Latin base word helps to understand the English word.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles.
Writing: Students worked on editing conferences and publishing today.
A collection of poems is due into portfolios on Monday, May 24.
Math: None on Fridays.
Science: We reviewed a district unit test about electricity and magnetism.
