Class activities for Tuesday, December 7
Spelling: None due to a character education lesson from Mrs. Alexander.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: None today due to a discussion about bullying.
Writing: None today due to technology.
Our next piece of writing, a fiction piece, is due Monday, December 17. Students should be drafting at this time.
Technology: Students started working on a Scratch video game. Today, students designed a program that would draw a triangle when the “t” key is pressed, and a square when the “s” key is pressed. Students can download Scratch for free to work on computer programming and video game design from a home computer.
Math: We sang some songs to review rules for polygons:
- No intersections;
- No openings or gaps;
- No curves.
We also sang a song to remember the number of sides in common polygons:

Science: Students completed an experiment to practice solving problems. Their task was to put a gummy lifesaver around a gummy worm by only using paperclips. Homework is to finish questions 1 and 3 on p. A-7.
Social Studies: None due to extra time with Science.
