Class activities for Wednesday, June 1
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.
Writing: Students worked on their Find It, Decide It compare and contrast project, which is due Monday, June 6.
Math: Students were introduced to finding areas of triangles by drawing rectangles around the triangles. Homework is to finish Journal pp. 315-316.
Science: We reviewed the fact that direct rays from the sun cause summer in a hemisphere, and when one hemisphere has summer, the other has winter. We also tested the energy of direct rays using solar panels.
Social Studies: We learned about the arguments made by Patriots and Loyalists to either become independent or stay loyal to Great Britain. how the colonists struggled with either being loyal to the King of England or being a patriot fighting for freedom.
