April 10th, 2012
Class activities for Tuesday, April 10
Spelling: None today due to our technology time.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students continued to practice reading their selected monologue passage with speed, tone and volume.
Writing: Students continued to work on the next writing piece, the I-Search research project today. Students started to collect information from the internet and save the information in Google Docs.
We also learned that it is important to check facts found in books and on websites. Not everything in print is true. Ever hear of the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus?
This informational project will be due Friday, April 27. Students should be looking for information to answer their research question at this point.
Math: Students practiced dividing three digit numbers. Homework is to finish Journal P10-5.
Science: None today due to our math skills practice time.
Social Studies: We looked at some final mystery regions maps to see how the United States can be divided into regions using natural or human features.
