Class activities for Wednesday, September 11

Spelling: Today was a preview of upcoming spelling words. You can find our yearly 500 word list here. Words will be selected from this list for each test. Students will not know which words will be tested. Find our more on our spelling page.

Cursive: We’ll start cursive this week.

Reading: None today due to art.

Writing: Students worked on their authority lists this morning and started a brainstorm list of possible writing topics this afternoon. They also started to prewrite for the first piece of writing, a personal narrative, due Friday, September 20. The personal narrative should be written about a memory or true event in each student’s life.

Math: Students received math books, journals and whiteboards today. We’ll start reviewing multiplication tomorrow.

Science: None today due to our math skills practice time.

Social Studies: We watched a presentation to remember the events of September 11.
