Class activities for Monday, October 6

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles; some groups worked on inferring using clues or asking curious questions as reading strategies.

Writing: Students completed partner revising conferences today.

A personal narrative is due on Friday, October 10. Your student should be revising at this time.

Math: We practiced using rounding to estimate sums and differences. Students also practiced math skills using MobyMax Math.

Here’s the skills we’ll be working on for the coming days. Maybe your student will have time to work on them at home:

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: None today due to extra time with social studies. We’ll have an extra science time soon.

Social Studies: We learned about the American Indians for the Northwest Coast, California Inter-mountain, and Southwest regions. Homework is the notes in the social studies notebook for sections 3.2-3.4.
