October 7th, 2014
Class activities for Tuesday, October 7
Spelling: Students made Words to Learn lists from words they missed on the last spelling test. This is your student’s spelling list for the next test.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.
Writing: We talked about hooking the reader with an interesting lead. Leads can begin with talking, action, or visual details.
Students also worked on editing their narrative today.
A personal narrative is due on Friday, October 10. Your student should be editing at this time.
Math: Students continued practicing adding decimals today.
Here’s the skills we’ll be working on for the coming days. Maybe your student will have time to work on them at home:
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: We wrote notes about the nervous system today. Tomorrow is a MiniQuiz about the skeletal, muscular, and circulatory systems.
Social Studies: None today due to extra science time.
