Class activities for Tuesday, November 25
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students continued to perform monologues for the class today using good speed, tone, volume, and accuracy of spoken words.
Writing: We practiced freewriting for details today. Students wrote for three minutes without stopping, thinking of details for their stories. Then then highlighted parts of their freewriting that were worth keeping for their draft.
A fiction story is due Monday, December 12. Your student should be prewriting now.
Math: We reviewed our last partner math test about multiplication.
Here are the skills your student should have completed by now:
- Multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits with area models
- Multiplying 2 digits by 2 digits
- Multi-digit multiplication
- Powers of ten
We’ll be reviewing division starting next week.
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: Students turned in their science notebooks to receive a grade for their last science experiment.
Social Studies: Students worked in teams to finish learning explorers assigned to their group. Homework is to finish the explorers notes from class, if not finished.
