Class activities for Monday, January 26
Spelling: Today was the McGrath Spelling Bee.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles; some groups worked on questioning as a reading strategy.
Writing: Students continued to practice writing literary essays today using a short story we read last week.
Here’s a sample that we started writing a literary essay together.
A literary essay will be due Friday, February 6.
Math: Students worked on a district math test today. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: We started reading about different kinds of data scientists collect during tests on people.
Social Studies: Students completed a reading challenge about early English settlements. Homework is to finish notebook p. 38 and to prepared for a test tomorrow.
