Class activities for Friday, April 24
Spelling: None today due to the Math Madness tournament.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles; some groups worked on determining importance and inferring as reading strategies.
Writing: Students continued to work on their digital I-Search presentation slides. The project is due on May 1. Students will share their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on May 1. Here is the conference schedule.
Math: Today was the Math Madness Division Tournament. Our class one our first round game to reach the championship. We lost to Mr. Weiss’ class by two points in the championship game.

It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.
Science: We started working on a district science test about force and motion.
Social Studies: Students completed a reading challenge about Colonial Williamsburg. A test about this topic will be on Monday.

- Fifth Grade Camp is May 7-8, 2015. Costs are $100 and payments are being accepted through May. A Camp Information Meeting is April 29 from 5-6 pm.
