Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students practiced reading fluency by selecting a passage from their novel to read to the class using good speed, tone, accuracy, and volume.
Writing: Students finalized their digital I-Search presentation slides. The project is due on May 1. Students will share their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on May 1. Here is the conference schedule. Students have been asked to wear something nice for the I-Search Conference.
Math: Students continued to work on fraction addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
Here are recent and upcoming skills from Khan Academy:
It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.
Science: We reviewed our last experiment about how different temperatures, seasons, and amounts of daylight are due to the tilt of the earth’s axis in space.
Social Studies: We learned about the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. Homework is to read pp. 142-145 in the social studies book and finish the reading notes for chapter 10.
