Class activities for Friday, May 1

Spelling: None today due to our I-Search Conference.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a reading skills and AR practice day.

Writing: Today was our I-Search Conference! Students received many compliments on the quality of their presentations, the clarity of their speaking, and the nice clothes they wore.

Math: Students continued to work on fraction addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

Here are recent and upcoming skills from Khan Academy:

It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.

Science: Today was the second session of our Jet Toy Challenge. Students finished their chassis, made sure the car rolled in a straight line, built their balloon jet engine, and started to test different types of tubes to connect to the balloon.

Social Studies: Students completed a Reading Challenge and Internet Tutorial MiniQuiz about the growing tensions between Britain and the colonies.
