November 19th, 2015
Class activities for Thursday, November 19
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 25-27 are available and due on Friday.
Reading: Today was a preview of new Literature Circles books. Students will start new books next week.
Writing: We talked about making characters come to life by giving them realistic dialogue to say, and by giving them action details to show how they act.
Students also worked on revising; your student should be going back to their draft to add new details, to take out parts that don’t match, or to change words or ideas. A fiction story will be due Monday, November 30.
Math: We continued to work on place value skills today, and some students started to work on rounding. Students used Khan Academy to practice math skills.
Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: Students worked on a science experiment about making a switch to control a circuit. Homework is to finish the On or Off experiment if not done in class.
Social Studies: None today due to our scheduled reading skills and AR practice time.
