Class activities for Tuesday, January 26
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive pages 46-48 are available and due on Friday.
Reading: Today was a reading skills practice day due to art.
Writing: We started working on our next writing project, a literary essay (here’s a sample). Students will select a picture book and write an essay about the theme or big idea of the book.
A literary essay will be due Friday, February 12.
Math: We practiced multiplying using the standard method. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
- Multiply a 1-digit number by a multiple of 10, 100, and 1000
- Multiplying tens
- Multiplication without regrouping
- Multiplication with carrying
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: None today due to extra social studies time. We’ll have extra science time tomorrow.
Social Studies: We finished learning about how a changing economy affects employment. We learned that competition creates outsourcing and causes some jobs to leave the US.
