Class activities for Friday, February 19
Spelling: We reviewed common spelling patterns for the /s/ sound: s, ss, sc, cy, ci, ce
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Friday.
Reading: Today was an AR and reading skills today. Students work on MobyMax Science for today’s reading practice.
Writing: We finished reviewing important core democratic values today. Homework is to think of an idea to improve our school or community.
Our next writing project is a persuasive letter (more details here and here’s a checklist) about an idea to improve our school or community. This essay will be due is due Friday, March 4.
Math: We practiced two-digit multiplication using partial products today. Students also worked on multiplication or other math skills at MobyMax. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: Students received space science books and we started an experiment to test how much bigger the earth is than the moon. We’ll continue this experiment next week.
Social Studies: We used this time to finish learning about core democratic values for our next writing project.
