Class activities for Thursday, February 18
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Friday.
Reading: We read our shared reading book today, Esperanza Rising, due to having art today.
Writing: Today we wrote notes about the core democratic values of common good, equality and diversity.
Our next writing project is a persuasive letter (more details here and here’s a checklist) about an idea to improve our school or community. This essay will be due is due Friday, March 4.
Math: We practiced looking for hidden questions in number stories. Students also worked on multiplication or other math skills at MobyMax. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: Students worked on a district test about matter.
Social Studies: We used this time to learn about core democratic values, which will be used in our next writing project.
