Class activities for Wednesday, February 17
Spelling: Students made Words to Learn lists from words missed on the last spelling test. These words are your student’s spelling words to practice for the next spelling test.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Friday.
Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.
Writing: Our next writing project is a persuasive letter (more details here and here’s a checklist) about an idea to improve our school or community. This essay will be due is due Friday, March 4.
This week, we have been reviewing core democratic values, including life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and justice. These values can be used to help make an essay more persuasive.
Math: We practiced rounding to estimate products. Students also worked on multiplication or other math skills at MobyMax. Some students practiced two-digit by two-digit multiplication today. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: None today. We’ll have extra science time tomorrow as we work on a district matter test.
Social Studies: We reviewed the homework and class assignment about the meaning of the phrases in the preamble to the constitution.
