Class activities for Tuesday, February 16
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Friday.
Reading: Students practiced informational reading skills today using MobyMax.
Writing: Our next writing project is a persuasive letter (more details here and here’s a checklist) about an idea to improve our school or community. This essay will be due is due Friday, March 4.
Math: None today due to extra time with science. We’ll have extra math time later in the week. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: We finished learning about matter today. Students “fogged up” a mirror to see how water vapor can condense into tiny droplets onto the cold mirror. A test about matter and measuring matter will be tomorrow.
Social Studies: Student groups started translating the preamble to the constitution into kid-friendly language. Homework is to finish p. 9 of the preamble notes page. We’ll work on p. 10 in class.
