Class activities for Thursday, January 25

Spelling: Today was a spelling and skill test.

Cursive: Cursive pp. 48-51 are available and are due Friday.

Reading: We talked about rereading, thinking about author point of view, and using synonyms as reading strategies. We also started to read a biography about a civil rights leader named W.W. Law.

Writing: We started writing a literary essay (here’s a sample) together. For this project, students will select a picture book and write an essay about the theme or big idea of the book.

A literary essay will be due Monday, February 12.

Math: We practiced two digit multiplication again today and worked on it at Khan Academy. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: We reviewed our recent experiments about measuring weight and mass.

Social Studies: We learned about how scarcity causes people to have to make choices because they don’t have enough resources.

Character Strength: We learned about hope and optimism again today.

Our Mission:
All students in Room 130 will do their best and get ready for 5th grade.
