Class activities for Friday, January 26
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 48-51 are available and were due today.
Reading: We finished reading a biography about a civil rights leader named W.W. Law that helped end segregation in Savannah, Georgia.
Writing: We continued writing a literary essay together. Here’s another sample to use for ideas. For this project, students will select a picture book and write an essay about the theme or big idea of the book.
A literary essay will be due Monday, February 12.
Math: We practiced two digit multiplication again today and worked on it at Khan Academy. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: We wrote notes in our minibooks about weight and mass.
Social Studies: Students wrote notes about how people can make choices when there is scarcity. Homework is to finish the Scarcity Problems page if not done in class.
Character Strength: We are learning about hope and optimism this week.
