April 18th, 2018
Class activities for Wednesday, April 18
Spelling: We learned that some sounds are spelled in more than one way.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Friday.
Reading: Today was a reading skills and AR practice day using MobyMax.
Writing: We talked about ordering facts in a 2-3-1 order on a slide. That means to save the best fact for last and to start with the second most interesting fact so that that reader is still interested. Students continued work on making slides for their I-Search presentation. Students will be sharing their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on April 27. Homework is to work on writing for 15 minutes; the goal is to make at least one slide each day.
Places students can find information:
Math: We learned about multiples today and worked on this skill at Khan Academy. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: None today.
Social Studies: We learned about specialization and division of labor today, which is how assembly lines can create so many products.
Character Strength: This week’s strength is love of learning.
