Class activities for Friday, November 9

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays. We also had a cursive quiz this week.

Reading: Students worked on MobyMax Reading Stories again today.

Writing: Students worked on prewriting conferences with partners today. We also started drafting. A fiction story is due Sunday, November 25. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Students should be finished with prewriting their fiction story and starting to draft by now.

Math: Many students are close to finishing our topic of adding and subtracting decimals. A few students are finishing leftover skills, and most have started to work on the next topic. We are up to 93% mastery, with a goal of 100% by November 13. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: None today due to extra time with social studies.

Social Studies: We learned about the history of Martin Luther and his role in the religious wars that were the spark of the Age of Exploration.

Character Strength: We are learning about bravery this week.
