Class activities for Monday, November 12
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.
Reading: We read a biography about a scientist that wrote a field guide still used to identify plants in the eastern US.
Writing: Students worked on drafting today. A fiction story is due Sunday, November 25. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes.
Math: A few students worked on trying to finish leftover decimal subtraction skills today. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: We read about how the loss of wolves in Yellowstone National Park caused elk overpopulation, which caused loss of Aspen trees due to elk browsing.
Social Studies: We had a leader lesson today about tuning in to nonverbal cues to help understand the emotions of another person.
Character Strength: We are learning about gratitude this week.
