Class activities for Friday, December 14

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.

Reading: Students read a monologue from a play to the class, reading with good speed, tone, accuracy, and volume.

Writing: We talked again about using a recurring or repeating detail in writing. This especially works when ending with a recurring so that the ending is circular.

Students also worked on publishing today. A narrative story (personal or fiction) is due Sunday, December 16. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Your student should have their draft finished and be editing by now for spelling, capitals, periods, and sentence sense.

Math: Students continued to work on a STAR Math test today. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: None today.

Social Studies: None today due to student’s reading their monologues to the class.

Character Strength: We are learning about humility and modesty this week.

Notes:

Our Mission:
All students in Room 130 will do their best and get ready for 6th grade.
