Class activities for Monday, September 30

Spelling: We practicing spelling words with silent letters again today.

Cursive: Cursive pp. 10-12 are available and are due Friday.

Reading: We read an informational text about Avalanches and how they can be prevented.

Writing: Students worked on drafting today. Your student should be nearing the end of their draft and have about 30 lines typed.

A personal narrative is due October 11. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Your student should be drafting at this point.

Math: We practiced multiplying and dividing by 10 today and understanding how that relates to place value. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: Students examined a rock sample and drew a diagram of it. We also used a simulation to study how rocks form. We learned that sediment is deposited in layers in water, gets compacted, and turns into rock over time.

Social Studies: None today due to a pep assembly for Homecoming.

Character Strength: We are learning about open-mindedness this week.
