Class activities for Tuesday, April 19
Spelling: Students continued making Words to Learn lists by correcting words missed on the last spelling test.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles; some groups worked on making connections and asking curious questions from the text.
Writing: Students continued to organize their information into a Mind Map today using the MindMup Google Drive app. They also created a Google Slides document and started working on some initial slides. The I-Search project is due on April 29. Students will share their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on April 29.
Homework is to work on research, the mind map, or slides for at least 15 minutes.
Math: We continued to work on 1-digit division with no remainders today using Khan Academy. Our target is to finish division skills by the end of April.
Here are some skills we’ve been working on:
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: Finished watching a documentary about ways that the earth is suited for life and scientific discovery. We’ll have a MiniQuiz soon about the sun, moon, and earth.
Social Studies: We talked about checks and balances today and learned it means that each branch can check the power of the other branches to make sure that one branch doesn’t get too powerful. Homework is to finish the Power Problems note page from class.
