Class activities for Friday, October 20
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive worksheet pp. 16-18 are available and were due today.
Reading: We reviewed our class average reading level and set a yearly goal today. We’ll be taking a STAR Reading test on Monday to measure our progress so far. Students also worked on MobyMax Reading Stories today.
Writing: We reviewed the idea of including talking, action, and visual details in all parts of a story. Students also worked on drafting. A personal narrative is due Monday, November 6. Your student should be drafting with about half a page by now. Homework is to work on writing for 15 minutes if your student needs to catch up.
Math: Students used MobyMax to practice math skills today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy if your student needs to.
Science: We reviewed the Investigation Review about the sun.
Social Studies: We graded the Analyzing the Government of Egbonia note page and reviewed what a republic and constitutional government is like.
Character Strength: We are learning about Teamwork this week.
Notes:
- Have you helped your student plan a Daily Homework Time? This is a daily (Monday through Thursday) time of 40 minutes for students to work on math, writing, math facts, cursive, or other homework. Maybe it’s right after school, or at 5 pm, or right after dinner. The idea is that your student is working each day on something to make them smarter. Here is a sample schedule and more ideas.
- Check out our class calendar to stay up-to-date.

Our Mission:
