Class activities for Tuesday, October 1
Spelling: Today was a spelling and skill test.
Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 18-23 are due on Friday.
Reading: We practiced making connections as a reading strategy. We also talked about how good readers visualize a story by picturing in their mind what is happening.
Writing: Today was a drafting work day.
The second piece of writing for the year is another personal narrative, which is a personal story or memory that involves the author. It is not fictional or made-up. This personal narrative is due Friday, October 11. Your student should be drafting at this time.
Math: We reviewed multiplication and division fact families and practiced multiplication and division facts. Homework is to finish Journal P1-7.
Science: Students worked on the “Pulling Through” experiment. Homework is to finish the experiment if not done in class.
Social Studies: We continued to research economic activities and resources of Michigan. Homework is to finish boxes 1-4 of the Michigan Economy question cards.
