Class activities for Friday, October 11

Spelling: None on Fridays.

Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 24-27 were due Friday.

Reading: Today was our reading skills practice time using MobyMax.

Writing: We talked more about proving general statements with details. A reader will believe a writer if the details prove what the story is saying. Three good kinds of details for stories are visual details, action, and talking.

The second piece of writing for the year is a personal narrative, due Monday, October 14 (new date). Your student should be editing or publishing at this time.

Math: Today was our math skills practice time using MobyMax Math and Khan Academy.

Science: We started working on a experiment to test how the force of magnet changes over distance.

Social Studies: Students practiced reading stories, looking for problems with scarcity, and brainstorming choices that could be made to solve the scarcity problems. Homework is to finish the Scarcity Chart if not finished in class.

Behavior Update:

  • Yellow magnets: 3
  • Orange magnets: 0
  • Red magnets: 0
  • STAR Awards: 3
  • Magnets moved this week (goal: TBD): 14

Check your student’s Personal and Social Growth grade online to see if your student moved their magnet.
