Class activities for Monday, October 21
Spelling: We practiced forming words with common spelling patterns for the long i sound: igh, ind, i, i-consonant-e, y.
Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 31-33 are due Friday.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles. Some groups practiced asking questions as a reading strategy.
Writing: None today due to our technology time.
The third and last piece of the marking period is a slightly fictionalized personal narrative, due Friday, November 1. Your student should be nearing the half-way point of their draft by now.
Math: Students completed a math pretest today before we start our next topic.
Science: We reviewed our last experiment and learned that the force of a magnet gets weaker as the distance between objects grows. A magnet’s force gets stronger when it is closer to another magnet or object.
Social Studies: None today.
