Spelling: None today due to the half day schedule.

Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 40-42 are due Monday.

Reading: We turned in our previous books and prepared to get new Literature Circles books on Monday.

Writing: None today due to the half day schedule.

Our next piece of writing is a fiction story, due Friday, November 22. Your students should be fuinished with their draft and revising at this time.

Math: None today due to the half day schedule.

Science: Students worked on an experiment about building a switching to turn a bulb on and off in a circuit.

Social Studies: We read an article about how gas stations compete with each other and how that affects the price of goods.

Mackinac Trip 2014 page updated

Our fourth grade Mackinac trip is Friday, May 9. Here are the details:

  • Who: All fourth grade students from McGrath, and approximately eight (8) chaperones from each class. Note that additional chaperones may carpool if they would like to attend.
  • When: Friday, May 9, 2014, from 6:00 am to 11:30 pm
  • Where: Colonial Michilimackinac, Mackinac Island, Grand Hotel lunch buffet, carriage tour, Arch Rock, Fort Mackinac, shopping on the island.
  • Costs: Student costs for the trip are $100 per student, all inclusive. Parent costs are $130, all inclusive.
  • What’s included: Travel by bus, admission to both forts, carriage tour, lunch at the Grand Hotel, dinner on the way home.

Spelling: Students continued to work on making Words to Learn lists from words missed on the last spelling test. These are the words your student should practice for the next test.

Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 40-42 are due Friday.

Reading: None today due to the half day schedule.

Writing: Today was a revising work today.

Our next piece of writing is a fiction story, due Friday, November 22. Your students should be fuinished with their draft and starting to revise at this time.

Math: We worked on a Topic 2 math test today.

Science: None today due to the half day schedule.

Social Studies: None today due to the half day schedule.

Social Studies: We talked more about how supply and demand affect prices.

Michigan Capitol and Historical Museum Field Trip 2013

Wednesday, November 13th, 2013

Our first field trip is coming soon; here are the details:

  • When: Thursday, December 5, 2013
  • Time: Meet at McGrath at 7:15 am for 7:30 departure. Back to McGrath at or before 3:00 pm.
  • Where: Michigan Capitol Building and Historical Museum in Lansing.
  • Cost: No cost for students, except for souvenirs. Up to five parents are admitted free of charge.
  • Permission Slip: Download the permission slip for this trip here
  • Lunch: Bring a sack lunch with disposable containers.
  • Chaperones: We are looking for chaperones for our field trip. We’ll even throw in a free bus ride! Our school asks that you have a Volunteer Information Profile on file with the office. Would you or a family member like to chaperone? Just fill out the form below:
