Class activities for Wednesday, January 22
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 63 is due Friday.
Reading: Today was discussion day in Literature Circles.
Writing: We started working on our next writing project, a literary essay (here’s a sample). Students will select a picture book and write an essay about the theme or big idea of the book. The essay is due Friday, February 7.
Math: We practiced drawing pictures and writing equations to help solve number stories.
Science: Students worked on an experiment comparing solids, liquids, and gases. Homework is to finish and improve the notes from the “Matter in a Baggie” experiment from today.
Social Studies: None today due to art.
