Class activities for Thursday, May 15
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Friday.
Reading: Today was a MobyMax Reading practice day. Students also completed a STAR Reading test.
Writing: Students created a final collection of their best poems, and started to have partner conferences for revising.
A collection of poems will be due Monday, May 19.
Math: We continued practicing fractions today. We used Khan Academy to practice three skills:
- Converting mixed numbers and improper fractions
- Adding and subtracting mixed numbers 0.5
- Fractions on the number line 2
Homework is to work on MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for 15 minutes or more, and to level up on the skills listed above if not done in class.
Science: Today was a physical education and nutrition lesson about MyPlate and healthy eating.
Social Studies: We practiced finding the relative location of the US (north of Mexico, south of Canada, north of the equator, in the northern hemisphere). Homework is to finish the Label the Continents and Location of the US notes pages started in class.
