Class activities for Wednesday, October 15

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.

Writing: Students continued to work on prewriting for their next personal narrative; they also worked on prewriting conferences with a partner.

A personal narrative, slightly fictionalized, is due Friday, October 31. Your student should be finishing prewriting by now.

Math: We practiced adding and subtracting decimals today using MobyMax.

Here’s some skills we’ve been working on lately:

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: We finished learning about the excretory system, and students completed a MiniQuiz about the nervous, digestive, and respiratory systems.

Social Studies: Students groups shared their notes about an American Indian tribe. Homework is to finish notebook p. 20.
