Class activities for Monday, November 17

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: Students worked on Literature Circles projects that they will perform starting tomorrow in order to share their book with the class.

Writing: We talked about how to tighten dialogue by making it important to the story, and by removing dialogue that isn’t interesting or important.

Students also worked on revising conferences today. A fiction story is due Monday, November 24. Your student should be revising by now.

Math: We reviewed multiplying two-digit numbers today

Here are some of the skills we’ve been working on lately. These would be good skills to practice at home.

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: We learned about physical and behavior traits that help an animal survive. Physical traits include a cat’s sharp teeth, a giraffe’s long neck, and a cheetah’s speed, and behavior traits include making nests, hunting in packs, and flying in a v-formation.

Social Studies: Students completed a chapter 4 test today.

Notes:

Our Mission:
All students in Room 130 will do their best and get ready for 6th grade.
