December 3rd, 2014
Class activities for Wednesday, December 3
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students received new informational magazines today and began reading and writing notes. Some groups worked on making connections as a reading strategy.
Writing: We talked about writing endings that make the writing feel finished, without rushing through important parts. One type of ending is to end with a question. Ending with some dialogue, a visual detail, or some action are other ways to write an ending.
Students didn’t have much work time after that; poor behavior choices misused some of our time. Homework is to work on revising.
A fiction story is due Monday, December 12. Your student should be revising at this point.
Math: None today due to finishing our science performance task.
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to finish level up on these skills if not done in class:
Science: Students finished the performance task that we started earlier in the week.
Social Studies: None today due to our reading skills and AR practice time.
