Class activities for Monday, May 9
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students completed a STAR Reading test today; the entire school is testing in STAR Reading this week.
Writing: We talked about turning a story into a poem. For example, a student could write a poem about a memory of a person or special event, such as the first time a student got their pet. The story could be be written as a poem by adding imagery, music, or emotion, and by using white space.
A collection of poems will be due Friday, May 20.
Math: We worked on ordering fractions today in Khan Academy. Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: We learned about actions that humans, plants, and animals complete to maintain their health or repair injuries.
Social Studies: We reviewed famous examples land and water forms in the US.
