Spelling: None today.

Reading: None today due to our I-Search Conference.

We also started working on our next writing project, a collection of poems.

Math: We practiced adding and subtracting fractions again today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: None today due to our I-Search Conference.

Social Studies: None today due to our I-Search Conference. We’ll have an economics test on Monday.

Reading: Students practiced reading their I-Search presentations.

Writing: Students worked on editing conferences today and worked on editing and publishing slides for their I-Search presentation. Students will be sharing their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference (here’s the schedule) on April 27 from 10:20-11:30; family members are invited!. Homework is to finish on slides tonight. Students have also been asked to wear something nice for their presentation tomorrow.

Math: We practiced adding and subtracting fractions today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: None today.

Social Studies: We wrote notes about economics today. We’ll have an economics test soon.

Writing: Students worked on revising conferences today and worked on revising slides for their I-Search presentation. Students will be sharing their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference (here’s the schedule) on April 27 from 10:20-11:30; family members are invited!. Homework is to work on revising slides tonight. At least seven slides should be finished at this point.

Math: We practiced ordering fractions today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: Students worked on an electricity and magnetism test today.

Reading: We read a biography about Ben Franklin and learned how he invented so many useful things that solved problems in his day.

Writing: Students continued work on making slides for their I-Search presentation. Students will be sharing their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference (here’s the schedule) on April 27 from 10:20-11:30. Homework is to work on revising slides tonight. At least seven slides should be finished at this point.

Math: We practiced comparing fractions today using picture models and numbers. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: We wrote notes about our recent experiments today. There will be an electricity and magnetism test tomorrow.

Reading: We read a biography about a chemist that invented Kevlar.

Writing: Students continued work on making slides for their I-Search presentation. Students will be sharing their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference (here’s the schedule) on April 27 from 10:20-11:30. Homework is to finish drafting slides tonight, with a minimum of seven slides.

Math: We practiced using number lines to make equivalent fractions. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: We made electromagnets today and learned how to increase the magnetic force of the magnet. Homework is to finish the Winding Electromagnets experiment if not done in class.

Social Studies: We learned about private and public goods today.
