April 10th, 2018
Class activities for Tuesday, April 10
Spelling: We started making Words to Learn lists from words missed on the last spelling test.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Friday.
Reading: We finished reading a realistic fiction story about how a brother showed that he cared for his sister by attending her basketball game. We also read about some reading strategies, such as visualizing and thinking about problem and solution.
Writing: Students worked on collecting research for their I-Search topic. Students will be sharing their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on April 27. Homework is continue to collect information this week.
Places students can find information:
Math: We worked on standard division with remainders today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: We learned that magnets are attracted to only certain metals: iron, steel, cobalt, nickel, and gadolinium. Homework is to finish the Sticky Metals experiment started in class. We will also be having a MiniQuiz about electrical conductors and insulators this week.
Social Studies: None today due extra science time. We’ll have an extra social studies time this week to make up for it.
Character Strength: This week’s strength is integrity.
