Class activities for Friday, December 7
Spelling: None today. We used this time to work on our Leadership Notebooks.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading skills practice time using MobyMax.
Writing: We talked about being consistent with verb tense in a story. Most stories are written in past tense, but some are in present tense. It doesn’t matter which is chosen as long as the writer sticks to the same tense throughout the story.
Students also worked on revising today. A narrative story (personal or fiction) is due Sunday, December 16. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Your student should have their draft done by now, but several students in our class are
Math: None today due to a class meeting. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: None today.
Social Studies: We learned about some holiday traditions from Mexico.
Character Strength: We are learning about kindness this week.
