Class activities for Tuesday, January 22

Spelling: None today due to a middle school course schedule assembly. Students received course request sheets today to use to select their elective classes for next year. The course request sheets are due February 14.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.

Reading: Today we read two expository articles about how people worked in teams during the space race and to clean up an oil spill.

Writing: Students worked on editing their adventure story today.

This Choose Your Own Adventure fiction gamebook project is due Wednesday, January 23.  Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Your student should be finished with their draft, having at least 10 pages on their website, and should be editing too.

Math: None today due to the middle school course request assembly.

Science: We did an experiment about forming water drops on the outside of a cold glass. We learned that the drops form when the class is cold, not room temperature, and even when there is no water in the class. So the water drops on the glass are not coming from the inside of the glass.

Social Studies: We read more about French settlements in the New World.

Character Strength: We are learning about prudence this week.
