Class activities for Wednesday, October 23

Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019

Spelling: We practiced spelling homographs, which are words that are spelled the same, but have different meanings.

Cursive: Cursive pp. 19-21 are available and are due Friday.

Writing: We talked about how to make characters seem real by adding talking, action, visual details or how other characters react.

Students also worked on revising today. Your student should be finished with their draft and should be adding new details to the beginning, middle, or ending of their story. That could be more talking, back and forth talking, more action, or visual details. This would also be the time to take out parts that don’t fit or aren’t focused on the main topic.

A “fictionalized” personal narrative is due Sunday, November 3. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes.

Math: We practiced multi-digit subtracting again today. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
