November 20th, 2019
Spelling: Students completed a spelling and skill test today.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 33-35 are due Friday.
Reading: We finished reading an article about animal adaptations. We also talked about summarizing, main idea, and key details as reading strategies.
Writing: Students completed editing conferences today by writing comments to a partner.
Students also worked on editing their own writing.
A fiction story is due Sunday, November 24. Homework on weekdays is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Your student should be editing for spelling, capitals, sentence sense, paragraphs, and other mistakes at this point.
Math: We practiced multiplying using partial products today. Homework on weekdays is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy. Our class mastery level is 70%. We are getting closer to our goal of 96%. But 12 students are under 60% mastery, meaning that many students have missing and unfinished skills. Ask your student to show you if they have their skills completed.
Science: We talked about how animals in a rain forest might use their senses to get information about their environment.
Social Studies: We learned about how the legislative branch can check the power of the President by approving his appointments.
Character Strength: We are learning about gratitude this week.
